Hazard in action for Lille
The club, after having a 30 million euro bid rejected, are now set to launch a 35 million euro bid which should be enough to secure the Player of the Season last year. Eden is keen to join his ex-teammate Gervinho in North London, and with Arsenal's place secured in the Champions League group stage it seems he is set to complete his transfer.
Arsene Wenger has been a long time admirer of the 5 ft 7in Winger/Attacking midfielder - who has previously attracted the interest of prestigious clubs such as Real Madrid - and sees the Belgian as an ideal candidate to take up the creative burden left behind after the exits of Fabregas and Nasri. Last season he scored 12 and assisted 10 as he helped Lille to the double and Champions League qualification.
Whilst spending a big bulk of his budget on the 19 year old may be a risk, Arsene knows about attacking talent and Eden can be playing for Arsenal for years to come. Hopefully the news which has broken from Mercato 365 - one of France's most prestigious sports websites - turns out to be true.
The news comes as a surprise after Lille's president has repeatedly dismissed stories of Eden's departure, most recently saying:
"Eden will not be leaving this season," said Paquet. "We are aware of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe but we are not prepared to sell."Whether Hazard will end up at Arsenal this summer is not certain, but if the stories are to believed, we have made a big step forward to securing his signature before next weeks deadline.
its similar as someone gonna bid for van persie.
ReplyDeletearsenal is gonna say no, but it all depends on if the player wants to voice out his desire.
